The Associated Press is reporting that 6 US Senators are threatening to tax the airlines if they implement a fee for carry on bags.
Unrelated, the airlines have reported that they will charge a new fee for the tax they might have to pay someday for charging fees for carry on bags.

Personally I hope the FAA never removes the ban on cell phones in-flight. I have enough crying babies and chatty seatmates to deal with without hearing about some guys colonoscopy exam from two rows back.
